Green Man Masks
Also called Jack o'
the Green, the Green Man is one of the most archaic of pre-Christian
motifs. It has its beginnings with the Celts and continues to be
seen up through the sixteenth century, generally as gargoyles.
Scholars believe the use of foliage integrated with human features to
represent deities with power over fertility and growth.
